It has been a minute!!

So, to anyone who will listen. Welcome, or welcome back!!

Within the last few years, a lot of life has happened…for all of us!!

Super quick update – or introduction, as it may be…

I am blessed to have a mother who loves me (and siblings – three sisters and two brothers), my father’s (he’s gone now) daughter and family who love me and a mom and dad (who are now both gone) who raised me (right) and loved me very much.

I have three brothers, two sisters in law (more like sisters), two sons, two daughters (and two sons in law), a grandson, another grandson on the way and another grand child on the way (she’s going to wait until someone says “It’s a __.”).

I have a life partner who keeps me grounded and lifts me up.

HOW LUCKY CAN ONE LADY BE??

And I feel in a funk.

Could it be possible that’s it’s because of the news of the day?

Could it be possible for life’s circumstance? I’m currently out of work because, well, I don’t know why!! I hate that!!!

There was no lead up, no warning, just, “We don’t think you’re a good fit.” WOW!!! Talk about demoralizing and funkifying. And yet…

How lucky can one lady be?!?

I have three brothers, two sisters in law (more like sisters), two sons, two daughters (and two sons in law), a grandson, another grandson on the way and another grand child on the way (she’s going to wait until someone says “It’s a __.”).

I have family who love and support me.

I have enough to eat (too much, honestly).

I have faith, family and friends.

If you hang your head in disappointment, discouragement, depression or dismay… all you will see is defeet. LIFT YOUR HEAD and your outlook will change.

My good friend and mentor Rick De Young always said when I owned the Douglas County News, “You know, you could write your “Kerfuffle” LONG before deadline, it’s full of lies anyway!” It wasn’t actually full of lies, it was just edited truth. Life, at least my life, was messy and not always what I wanted the public to know.

I’ll try to be more real now. I’ll try to be more me.
