We all have those days when the veil is “rent in twain” and reality is revealed. Today was that day for me!

Yesterday in our Bible fellowship meeting, the Queen Aunt shared that we don’t ever REALLY know someone. She’d seen, in the newspaper, an article about someone she knew to be a good man. It turned out that he had done evil. There were those who vouched for his goodness, saying that they couldn’t believe that he would do something "like that." My cousin said we all have a hidden self.

We have heard all our lives that integrity is doing the right thing when no one is watching. Do we stand by our principles? What if a spotlight was shown on our secret lives?

It is always cool to find out that a celebrity that we’ve looked up to has been quietly doing good in their community. It “blows our minds.”

When our minds are “blown” it is never about the person who did something unexpected, it is about us not expecting it. “How could we not have known?”

I want to be the person that blows your mind because I did something incredibly awesome and you KNEW I was an awesome person, but just didn’t realize just how I could redefine awesome!

Naps, by definition, should occur during the daytime, at least when everyone else is awake and you take a little snooze. Lately, I seem to nap between 10pm and 1:30 – 2am and then again from 5 (or 6) to 7:30am. That. Should. Not. Be! and frankly, there are more of you out there like that than one would realize. Facebook tattles. Actually, you tattle on yourself when you respond to texts in the middle of the night. (It’s not inappropriate to text in the middle of the night. Doesn’t everyone have their settings set to not get notifications from 10pm to 7:30am?)

In those non-nap AM times (ugg), I have epiphanies. I’m grateful for them. Really, I am. However, I do wish that they would come at a more reasonable hour!

The other night, in the MIDDLE of my nighttime awake time, I thought about the 7P’s. Patience, perseverance, perspective, passion, priorities, prayer and peace. (It is way better than the one that I learned before… Proper prior planning prevents pretty poor performance.)

My 7 (perfect number of) P’s.

One must have patience. Life happens. Deal with it.

One must have perseverance. Life happens. Roll with it and keep going.

One must have perspective. Life happens. Figure out the best way to look at it.

One must have passion. Life happens. Go for the gusto! Give it all you’ve got.

One must have their priorities in order. Life HAPPENS. Decide what’s important and single mindedly go for it.

One must pray. Because Life Happens. We fall, we fail, we succeed. Pray because life happens.

And when we’re doing the right thing, we have peace. And life happens.

Live, laugh, love and prosper. (Another P…)
